Our story

Tensira was founded in 2009 following the meeting of Hamidou Diallo of Guinean descent and Tuulia Makinen Diallo, a native of Finland.

Tuulia graduated in Marketing and Textile Product Management at Mod’Spe in Paris. She started her career at Jean Paul Gaultier in New York, then worked for Tod’s Group at Roger Vivier in Paris. Her experiences are a source of inspiration for Tensira. To learn more about Tuulia's journey and inspirations, click here

Hamidou, quadrilingual, with more than 10 years business experience, graduated in Marketing at the University Jyväskylä in Finland. He also has a Masters degree in Economics at the University Paris XII. Hamidou grew up in a creative environment thanks to his mum who was an indigo dyeing artist for more than 40 years. She was his first inspiration when founding Tensira.

« Excluded from globalization, African handcrafts risk to disappear. This is why it’s important to bring to market this unique know-how, transmitted from generation to generaton »  Hamidou Dallo

Tensira is the expression of this Guinean ancestral know-how of weaving and dying indigo, and Scandinavian design.
