In our workshops in the Republic of Guinea, our artisans work with natural indigo pigments, preserving an ancestral savoir-faire while respecting the environment. Each dye bath requires precision, experience, and sensitivity to achieve the depth of blue that is so characteristic of the Tensira universe.

The art of tie & dye: between tradition and precision

At Tensira, tie & dye is a true artisanal craft.

Each pattern is born from an entirely manual process: the fabric is carefully tied, stitched, or pinched point by point before being immersed in the dye. Once dry, every knot is removed by hand to reveal the final design.

On a single meter of fabric, this process can involve more than 3,600 hand-made points, reflecting a rare level of artisanal excellence.

This meticulous work gives rise to organic, vibrant, and deeply authentic patterns.
